Captain Faolan Greenward,
at your service.

What do you even do for an intro?

Work In Progress.

Faolan is originally from an old D&D campaign, where he was a Paladin of Freedom, devoted to individual freedoms more so than righteous justice. Much of that carries on today.

Let's get to know each other.

I have a lot of boots to fill. I'm the Captain of an adventurer squadron, a free paladin, a conjurer, a smith, a cook, a lover, and more. I'm big, buff, and always ready for a good time. Feel free to give my linkpearl a ring if you want to spend some quality time with me. I might even cook you dinner! Are you looking for something a bit more hands on with me? I've got good news for you. I own a little den of vice, and I'd love to have you stay for a while. Just be sure to pay your tab, or you might stay much longer than you expect to.

Interested in my story?
It's not for the faint of heart.

I've been around for a while, so I have a lot of stories to tell. They aren't always things that everyone wants to hear, though. My childhood was particularly rough. I've moved on, and I have my new family to thank for that. I don't mind sharing if you really want to hear it.Today I'm a truly free paladin, but I wasn't always a paladin, and I wasn't always free. You've been warned. Pull up chair if you're still interested.

Other stuff?

I have my secrets. If you want to know more, you'll have to earn it.

Kinks

I'm a versatile switch. I'm not picky between being a top or bottom. I'm a gentle dom, if you're looking for that, though we can leave that dynamic out of it too. There are just a few men that get to see my submissive side, though.

A Free Paladin

A note on timelines: Given that FFXIV does not have a set timeline, this story assumes that Eorzean years pass at around the same rate as Earth years. To keep things easy, the final year of the Seventh Umbral Era was 2013, and the first year of the Seventh Astral Era was 2014.

A Taste of Freedom

I am a free paladin now, but it wasn't always so. As a kid, I was taken captive by bandits. They were former Garlean soldiers that had deserted and turned to robbery as a means to get by. They were a vicious bunch, particularly their leader. They got worse after the destruction of the Agrius, emboldened by the lack of nearby Garlean soldiers to try and hunt them down. After seeing strange falling stars one night, I started to sort of sense whenever they were about to do something horrible. I quickly learned to hide this sense from them, but then, when I was 14, I was finally freed from them entirely. Conjurers and Wood Wailers from Gridania destroyed their camp one night, and rescued me from the leader's tent.

Captive No Longer

I was adopted by the conjurers that rescued me, the Greenwards. They had no way to find my parents, and they didn't want to just set me off on my own. I was one year younger than their oldest child, Iris. I had a lot of trouble opening up to them, largely because of how long I had been held captive and how much the bandits mistreated me. Iris never gave up on me, even as days turned to months, and months became a full year. I couldn't ask for a better big sister. She even helped me pick my name. We had simple means, and a lot of siblings, but the love the whole family gave to me brought me out of my shell.

The Greenwards adopted a lot of strays like me. We used the term amongst ourselves with a playful tone. Of all our siblings, only Iris, Hibiscus, and Rose were not adopted strays. Our parents, Lily and Joseph, treated us all as real family, though, so it didn't matter. Using flowers as names has been a Greenward staple for generations.

I was probably the most difficult stray to deal with, though. I was certainly the only hrothgar they had ever met. If it wasn't for a few of the Wailers knowing what a hrothgar even is, they might not have found help for me so quickly. They found a pair of hrothgar scholars, twins named Dawn and Dusk, and prodigies in their schooling. They were on a field trip to Gridania, where the Wailers asked them to find me.

They spent about a year teaching me all about hrothgar from Bozja, and even those in their remote village. I always wondered why they were so much smaller than me, though. Over that year I grew quite a lot, almost to my current size, but they were always so small by comparison. I also discovered that I had a natural talent for conjury, and I soon began joining my parents in their rites and rituals involving the Elementals.

Becoming a Paladin

Four years later, when I was 20, I had a strange dream. I walked beneath a canopy of crystalline ice flowers, and at its end I stood before a shrine to Menphina. As I reached out to the shrine, there was a bright flash of light. I awoke, standing before the small shrine to Menphina that was in our home, with a soul crystal in my paw. It was the soul crystal of a paladin. I felt a strange connection with this crystal, as if it resonated with me. I was able to learn how to wield new powers with the help of the crystal.

The Adventure Begins

At the age of 22, I was participating in a rite to appease the Elementals. I collapsed in the middle of it. After several days of fevered dreams, I awoke. My parents said my dreams were a vision from the Elementals. I had dreamed of a long journey that would lead me to something of great importance. After a month of recovery, I decided that it was time for me to leave, to take up the mantle of a free paladin, to travel to those who could not be close enough to my home for the Greenwards to protect, and to see just how true this vision was.

I traveled to the other city states, Ul'dah and Limsa Lominsa, as well as a brief visit to Ishgard. It was during these early travels that the Grand Companies were formed anew to combat the Garlean threat. I was 23 when Bahamut brought destruction to the realm. Thankfully, most of my family survived. Only a few of the other strays that had joined the battle at Carteneau went missing. I spent the next several years aiding those I could and helping people rebuild.

Forging a Party

Six years after starting my adventures, as the Seventh Umbral Era drew to a close and hostilities with the Garlean Empire escalated again, I decided it would be a good idea to get a few people to work with long term. I thought about the twins, and so I sought them out. It turns out they were also adventuring, and they recognized me right away. I also had my answer for their size. They were just 8 years old when we first met! Now they were full grown, though I was still several ilms taller. We quickly formed a party together, and we registered with the Twin Adders as an adventurer squadron.

Reunions and Celebrations

During the first year of the Seventh Astral Era, we found all of the strays that had gone missing. They couldn't explain where they were for the past five years, but they were all involved in Operation Archon as adventurers aiding the Grand Companies. There had never been a celebration as grand as the one we held that night at the Greenward farmhouse.

Love in Strange Places

Three years later, the next major event happened. Shinryu was summoned, and Omega was released. Their battle lit up the sky for malms. Not long after, we made a new friend. Ziethgar had a rough introduction. He was just 16, and he had no clue how to interact with people. Once we had him talking, we found out what was going on. He was from a tiny village in the northern parts of Ala Mhigo that was destroyed during the battle between Omega and Shinryu. With no home and no prospects for the kid, I took him on as an apprentice. The twins helped teach him how things worked in most of Eorzea compared to his old village.

Around the same time, Dawn and Dusk introduced me to their half-brother, Strawberry. The town the three of them were from had lost most of its farmland, so it had been abandoned. Strawberry moved to Gridania to be with his brothers.

Two years later, when Ziethgar turned 18, we officially made him part of our adventuring party. Then he asked me out. It's been another five years, and I have to admit that he's improved me in a lot of ways with his constant affection. He's a dummy at times, but I love him all the same. Just don't tell him I said that. It'll go to his head!
